Early one morning we spotted two golden maned male lions sleeping on top of a kopje. They were in a perfect spot as the rock looked out towards the savannah full of wildebeest and zebra. We took the decision to wait for however long it took for them to wake, hoping for some majestic poses on top of the rock. We waited for over two hours. One of brothers disappeared into one of the bushes behind almost as soon as he woke, leaving his brother behind. Thankfully his brother was more obliging, regally posing on the rock, his golden mane illuminated by the sun.
