Lions of the Serengeti Photography Series

Guardians of the
Eternal Plains

Serengeti- an ancient eco system like no other.

Epic, evocative and enduring.

Endless grass meeting endless skies, broken only by kopjes, granite sentinels older than time itself. Two billion years old worn smooth by wind and rain.

Each year, over a million wildebeest pour across 1,800 miles of open country in the greatest wildlife spectacle on Earth. All of it driven by rain and grass. All of it witnessed by the lion.

Three thousand of them. The largest lion population in Africa. They have ruled this golden kingdom for half a million years. Apex predators in an apex landscape.

“We have Jules’ magnificent photograph” Regal Entrance” in our hall. Every time I pass, it gives me a lump in my throat and a longing to be on safari. I is such a masterful shot, so atmospheric and evocative”

The Serengeti plains are their one of their last strongholds in Africa & these images are a testament to that sovereignty.
