As I was witnessing two adult Emperor Penguins greeting one another with mirrored movements, a chick appeared at their feet, edging between them, leaning against its father.
The storytelling opportunities in these short 8.5 minutes between adults and chicks were numerous. However, one of the simplest and no less emotional story was the tenderness showed by the adults to their chick and when it turned its head towards my camera, as if delighted by their attention I knew I had an image that captured their special bond.
