This award winning black-and-white artwork, captures a tender moment unfolding between a young lion cub and its older sibling. The cub, with a playful demeanor, gently interacts with the older lion, showcasing the close social bonds that exists within lion prides.
We had found the Enkoyanai pride on a kill just after sunrise & were able to stay with the pride for a couple of hours. There were at least a dozen lions so its often hard to capture intimate moments like these when there are so many lions around. You have to keep a watchful eye in these chaotic scenes. It was when the pride had settled down that I noticed these two cubs playing & was able to get a few frames of their interaction.
The soft focus of the surrounding grass also adds depth, drawing attention to their affectionate exchange. This image hopefully conveys the essence of intimate wildlife interaction, making it a captivating addition to anyone who loves lions.
