One of nature’s great spectacles is the Salmon run which takes place every year. I’ve been lucky to witness & photograph Grizzly bears as the feast on the salmon in order to fatten up before hibernation.
It’s also the one time you can get reasonable close to bears safely as they are so focused on catching salmon. This image is one of my favourites to show this behaviour & you can see the explosive energy that this bear was using as he tried to pounce on the salmon. It’s an exhilarating photographic experience to be in the wilderness with these bears.
